Acceptable strings are of the form
[ (r1,i1) (r2,i2) (r3,i3) ... ].
The data elements can be in any format that is supported by
Double.Parse( string, NumberStyles ). Note that whitespace,
even if set as a group separator, is taken as a data separator.
Parentheses are taken as complex number separators not as negative
currency values.
